TESTAMENT Guitarist Talks Gear, AmpKit App In New Video Interview

January 17, 2012

iPhone applications developer Agile Partners had the privilege to spend an afternoon with TESTAMENT guitarist Alex Skolnick to discuss his favorite gear, his thoughts about AmpKit (an amps, effects and recording app for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch),and the tools he uses to form and develop ideas. While they were talking, Alex was kind enough to lay down two tracks. For the two tracks, he used the Budda SD30 lead and rhythm channels with a D-Delay to produce his metal and jazz sounds.

Skolnick is one of the true guitar heroes. He has performed in some of the world's biggest venues with his seminal thrash metal band TESTAMENT, and relocated to New York City to earn a jazz degree from the New School. He has recorded four albums with his acclaimed trio, including his most recent, "Veritas", out now on Palmetto Records.

TESTAMENT's new album, "The Dark Roots Of Earth", is tentatively due in late April/early May 2012 via Nuclear Blast Records.
